Ingredients of Kashmiri Halwa

  • 4 tsp desi ghee
  • 1 Cup oats
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grain sugar
  • 1 tsp green cardamom powder
  • Few saffron threads
  • Few cashew nuts, almonds and raisins

How to Make Kashmiri Halwa

  1. Take a non-stick pan and heat 2 to 3 teaspoon of ghee and fry the oats on low heat till  the colour changes.
  2. Heat the milk and sugar in the pan and bring it to boil.
  3. Once the sugar has dissolved completely, add the fried oats and stir continuously.
  4. After stirring, add the cardamom powder and the remaining ghee.
  5. Add the saffron threads for color and aroma. Stir until the mixture leaves sides of the pan.
  6. Remove from fire and garnish with fried cashews and raisins
  7. Your Kashmiri Halwa is ready to serve and eat.
